Biometrics 2011 and Planet Biometrics Form Alliance to Deliver Premier International Event on Biometric Technology

Biometrics 2011 (http://www.biometrics2011.com/), the world’s leading international biometrics conference and exhibition, today announces a strategic alliance with online information portal Planet Biometrics (http://www.planetbiometrics.com). The mutually-beneficial alliance brings together two of the industry’s most respected information sources, both of whom share a vision of providing top quality, hard-to-source information for the biometrics industry and its end users.

Now in its 14th year, Biometrics 2011 continues to display exceptional growth with a 20% increase in conference delegate numbers in 2010. The show also attracts in the region of 50 exhibiting companies and more than 1000 visitors from around the world, making it the number one international business event for the biometrics sector. The event has a history of providing access to topical international speakers with a comprehensive programme reviewing the current state of play and outlining future trends in both the government and commercial sectors.

The programme has been directed by Mark Lockie, Managing Director of Science Media Partners Ltd, and founder of Planet Biometrics, for more than a decade, and this alliance cements a long-standing relationship between the two organisations.

Nigel Clear, Conference Director at Elsevier says: “We are extremely pleased to extend our existing relationship and to work together to further promote the annual Biometrics event as the leading networking and information source for professionals involved in biometric technology. The event continues to attract leading speakers and the major players in the field. Through this arrangement we will have, via Planet Biometrics, access to expert industry insight and increased exposure via the portal’s marketing opportunities. We are confident that this partnership will build on our existing success to create an even larger and more topical event.”

Mark Lockie agrees: “The combined global reach of the two brands will be mutually beneficial in many ways. It will provide enhanced visibility of both the event and the portal to a large, yet qualified audience. The link will also provide new enhanced networking opportunities between the industry and the users of the technology both before, during and after the event takes place. With input from our team of expert advisory panellists and editors, I am confident that 2011 will see our best programme yet and go even further towards meeting the needs of our delegates and exhibitors.”

Biometrics 2011 will take place 18-20 October 2011 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Westminster, London, UK.
