The Hamad International Airport aims to be a landmark Airport for both the Middle-East region and the rest of the world and a cornerstone for the economic development of Qatar. It will be equipped with Vision-Box® vb i-match® 5 eGates and operated by the Vision-Box® front-end Border-Control application, vb Inspector®.

Vision-Box® was awarded the contract after an international tendering process. The multimodal eGate (face, iris and fingerprint biometric validation), will ensure a speedy passage time with 100% accuracy, offering state of the art automated border control to several different traveler profiles, while making sure that the border is secure and that the passenger has a pleasant experience.

The ergonomic, intuitive and slim design of the eGates efficiently blends in with the architectural design of the airport, its materials and colour codes.

Jean-François Lennon, Director of International Business Development at Vision-Box® S.A., emphasizes that this contract represents the largest deployment of multimodal ABC eGates in the region, at a single site. Vision-Box® feels honoured to be part of this world premiere project. “The Middle-East is a market that continues to show enormous potential, where we have invested for some years now and we look forward to further contribute to the various on-going Identity Management programs, as well as supporting the different GCC initiatives in similar projects, by continuously investing in local resources”.
